We have had consistently good service at TD and we’re just discussing moving our business banking there too. However, today we went in to do a wire transfer, and we were in a bit of a rush but figured we wouldn’t be more than 15 minutes. We got to the teller and started the process and after taking a bit of extra time he apologized and told us he was new. We said no problem and continued to wait until it was clear that he couldn’t figure it out (not his fault). He went and got his manager (I believe his name was Christian), who came over and the teller started to explain what was going on. The manager put his hand up and kind of arrogantly said can you wait a minute? He then said hi how are you to us and my husband, kind of confused, said good. He said what can I do for you and my husband said we are in the middle of doing a wire transfer. The manager turned back to the employee and asked what the problem was and started fixing it. He apologized to us and said it was the tellers second day on the floor, but it wasn’t the tellers fault. He was very nice and clearly wanted to do a good job. The manager should have someone partnered with him and not assume that customers have all that time to wait. I hope the teller isn’t put into that kind of a situation again as it was unfair to him and us.

This is one of many problems I have had with this bank. The financial planner at this bank did nothing. I did not hear from him at the end of tax season. I paid him to do nothing. I should have dumped him last year. He wanted me to put more risk in my investments. Not even asking me what my goals were or level of comfort. I contacted him to sell my investment portfolio and he told me to get the branch to do it. I went into the branch and signed the transfer documents. The rep never provided me with copies. She told me it would take about 4 business days to complete. I had to contact them mid week to find out at was going on. They never followed up with me. Finally my RRSPs were cashed out. Ten day later still my TFSA had not been cashed out. I had to phone the head office. After much run around I got a fellow who was able to complete the transaction. He told me it should go through on May 17th. I don't know what game they are playing. There has been no follow up from this branch even after contacting them 3 times. Too much colluding between the government and the banks. I went into the branch to get the problem dealt with and STILL the branch is railroading me. To add insult to injury I had an appointment and had to wait while Dustin did something for the Manager. I phoned both him and the Manager and they did not return my calls. I again finally had to contact the main office to formally lodge a complaint. Do not trust these people with your money!

Waited in line for over an hour to arrange an electronic transfer for a house purchase only to learn the cost would be $80 and it might take 4 to 5 days for the money to be trsnsferred to a bank in Smiths Falls for a deal that was closing that day. The teller was kind enough to suggest a bank draft that I might be able to take to another bank to complete the transfer so I wouldn't have to drive to Smiths Falls. Which I did and then waited another 45 minutes to complete the transaction. Man 4 to 5 days for an electronic transfer for $80. Service like that makes walking or Canada Post look like a better altrrnative.
