  Extremely Unprofessional Mortgage Experience with TD Bank We recently met with a TD mortgage advisor to discuss the cost of breaking our mortgage and getting a new one for a more expensive home. From the start, she insisted that a blended mortgage was our only option. When I explained that we preferred to pay the penalty and move to a lower variable rate, she immediately quoted TD’s posted rate, which was much higher than what other lenders were offering. When I pointed this out, she disputed it as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. I do my research thoroughly and already had a lower offer through our broker, but thought I’d give TD the first chance since we’re customers. Unfortunately, there was no willingness to negotiate—she claimed only “head office” could discuss lower rates. That’s simply not true, and it became clear she wasn’t interested in retaining our business. When we mentioned that we might leave TD entirely, she shrugged as if she didn’t care. Then the meeting took an even worse turn. As she tried to “educate” us about variable rates, she made political comments about government leaders and even launched into a rant praising Trump and criticizing Canadian officials. Whether we agreed or not, this was shockingly unprofessional and inappropriate, especially coming from a representative of a major Canadian bank. We left the meeting feeling disrespected and frustrated. It’s bad enough that TD offers uncompetitive rates and poor service, but to have an advisor turn a financial discussion into a political soapbox was unacceptable. We’ll be breaking our mortgage and will never use TD again. I truly don’t understand how someone with that level of unprofessionalism keeps their job. EDIT: See TD response below. "if you wish to discuss further...". What is that? Shouldn't you be eager to speak to me rather than saying if I wish? This tells me you don't take these reviews seriously. I am confident we aren't the first to complain and nothing was done about it considering how comfortable she was to dive into her partisan rant. I would never have done that in my professional career. If I did, I would have been fired. Do better TD. Stop with the canned google responses. It would be better for you if you just ignored them

  TD is hands down the worst bank in Canada. I pay 14$ a month and can’t use an atm machine, can’t withdrawl money or make a deposeit unless I’m in the branch. the only branch in my town is minimum 1 hour wait. No overdraft, no credit card offer. Hands down the worst bank. I’ve been with them for 13 years.

  Booked an appointment to see someone to go over my accounts. They called back and said to see a teller. I went to the teller and she told me she couldn’t close my student line of credit because it was from another location. What?! I had renewed it at this branch and they had no problem reopening it then. Now when I want the overpayment of $0.43 back and to close it completely, they can’t do it? She also said to call Visa to cancel my credit card instead of her doing it. Why do we pay such high fees for no help?
