My mom banks here and has been in a nursing facility for most of the year. I handle her finances because of her situation. On top of taking care of her bills every month, a payment is to be made to the facility with a cashier's check. I am not on her account, but my wife is, and depending on our schedules, this can make things difficult. I am her power of attorney and was told months ago by Kerry, who used to work at the Painesville branch, that if I brought the paperwork in, it could be sent in so I could be added to her account to make things easier. So, on 10/3, I finally did just that, but unfortunately, I didn't make an appointment with her instead, I sat down with the branch manager, which was a mistake. She took the paperwork from me, which was a state-notarized copy of the POA paperwork, thumbed through it and proceeded to tell me she couldn't find my mom's name, which was on the second page and last next to the notary stamp. I then told her my mom's name since she couldn't read it. She then proceeded to tell me she couldn't find my mom's account, even though my mom has banked with Key for over 20 years. So, she asked for her social security number, and I gave it to her. She then proceeded to tell me my wife is already on the account and asked me why I needed to be added. I told her, not that it was any concern of hers, that it didn't matter. She just repeated herself and asked why I needed to be added since my wife was already on the account. I told her again, but she just stared at us with a blank face and then asked if I go online. She basically told me to create a fake email in my mom's name and make an online account. Tell me, WHAT DOES THAT FIX? That was her solution. Instead of taking my again legal state-notarized POA paperwork and simply putting me on her account like I wanted, this was the option I was given. She, in fact, made me feel like I was trying to do something sketchy and didn't believe me. If it were my choice, I'd immediately close her accounts and go elsewhere. I personally bank at Dollar and have NEVER been treated like that, but for some reason, my mom likes KB. One thing I'll say is I'll never step foot in this branch again after this and it wasn't the only incident in the same visit but it's enough. If you're looking for a new bank, I'd suggest you go elsewhere; there are better ones out there without a doubt. If this is your branch you should still go elsewhere, Concord,Chardon or Willowick all are better choices!

If you are a small buisness trying to open a buisness account this is not the bank to go to. Susan is the most unhelpful unprofessional banker I've personally ever met. She had me wait in the waiting area which smells like vomit and told me she would be 10 to 15 minutes. 45 minutes later she tells me about 10 to 15 minutes. About 20 minutes later she pawns me off on one of the other bankers who had no idea how to set up a buisness account and had to get the other lady in the cube next to him to help. My complaint isn't with the 2 that helped me at all, they were great. My complaint is with a buisness banker who has no time to open a new account for a potential customer. Fast forward to my 96th day in this account things are OK but I haven't really deposited anything major. I still have my buisness account at another bank and slowly working Key into my primary to make banking easier because NFCU does not have a walk in branch near me. I decided it's time to make the transition into key and started depositing job checks and a few down-payment for future jobs materials. I get a notice saying the funds will be available on the 22nd so I schedule deliveries and installs accordingly. 22nd rolls up funds are unavailable and are now on hold until the 30th. We'll this isnt good considering my whole schedule is based off the time I was given by the bank. I call customer service and they said they couldn't help but the branch manager at the bank I opened my account could help and they would send her all my info and she should be in touch. I told her I didnt think the lady that manages the one I opened my account at would be willing to help me because she doesn't seem to have time for small buisness people like me. I went there that afternoon and sat in the vomit smelling waiting area for a few minutes. I could tell when she walked up I wasn't going to get the help I needed but I still talked to her. She informed me that the lady I talked to with customer service lied to me and she had no authority to help me with this situation and told me that normally small buisness owners get buisness lines of credit so this isnt a problem. Im not really interested in that I just want my funds available when key bank tells me they will be available that this puts me in a bad light not being able to deliver to customers who have entrusted me with their money and their projects. She actually started snickering out of the side of her face. I'm not sure if she looked at something funny on her monitor but, it sure seemed like she was trying hard not to laugh at me. I asked if she thought my situation was funny. She said she was not laughing at me but it sure looked like she was. I asked her so I can stop wasting her time and she could stop wasting my time if she was willing to help me or not. She said no so I got up and walked out. This isnt a few dollars. This is $8100.00 i was able to deal with the problem via NFCU but that is not the point. I spoke to the manager at the Mentor store and I was told the lady told me the truth when I called customer service the first time and that Susan most definitely had the ability to help me out and atleast put in a request for me. I already filed a complaint against the poor girl who I thought lied to me because I felt with that Susan had no reason to lie. As soon as these checks clear I will be closing my accounts at Key Bank. I know it doesn't really mean anything to a person like Susan but it does to me.

Just left the branch. The teller was completely useless and should look into retirement homes. I went to withdrawal $20 from the ATM and got $1! I explained this to her but her comprehension is lacking. Pretty sure I'll be contacting legal council.
