- AHApril HayesMar 10, 20253.0Went to Edward jones per recommendation of a friend and desire to consolidate various retirements from previous employers. Melinda was really nice when meeting and assisting in rolling everything over. However I noticed little growth in investments and lack of control of where monies are invested. My husband had lost his job which we decided to cash-out accounts. You could sense the dissatisfaction in this decision as opposed to understanding of the circumstance. There was no discussion in regards to tax withholding, and I assumed 20% was standard. However it appears that only 10% was withheld on two, and none on the other. Tried calling front desk staff with a couple questions per my tax guy which by the end of the conversation she states, “There should be no questions, your tax guy should be aware”. I had decided that hence forth, I am better off rolling old employer retirement plans to my current employer account.
