    I had a rather frustrating incident both from the cafe member and some of the tellers at 750 Sunrise Highway, Valley Stream, NY at about 4.15 pm today. After weeks ago, I called the customer service department to find out how to remove the Power of Attorney and set up a Joint Owner/Holder on the account for my father. I was told by the customer service agent that I should write a letter outlining my request and take it to my branch. I did as instructed and took the letter to my branch to have it faxed. The gentleman who was the Cafe person took my letter behind counter. He came back and told me that they could not do it but the request could be executed on line. I explained to him that the instruction was given by Capital One's customer service and his response was that they were wrong. (This was the conversation that the tellers were having behind the counter and they did not realize that I figured it out.) I felt like I was caught like a deer in a headlight between the branch and the customer service department! Thanks God for Theresa who I spoke to at the customer service department at 8.20 pm! (And it only because of Theresa that I gave it 3.) She did confirm that it could be done on line and she also confirmed that I had to write a letter. Theresa did not however tell me that the branch was wrong. Theresa represented what I believe Capital One wants to display to its customers. She was able to hear both sides and work at bringing about a resolution without casting blame. One of the things I found out today in my trying to hash out my situation was that, according to the team member, the customer service team may provide inadequate or inaccurate information to a customer. The customer does not know if what was said is right or not. If it is incorrect, it is not be wise to tell the customer that customer service is wrong as this shows that there is a division between the branch and customer service. It would be nice if the the branch would take a minute and call customer service to get it straightened out. This shows team spirit and collaboration between all concerned and the customer who happens to be the most important person walks away satisfied and willing to share of a great experience with Capital One!

    I was at this branch today, 8/21/2025, to get a couple things done and had THE WORST experience. I called at around 9:20am asking what time the notary would be in. I was told 10:30 to 12:30pm and thanked the person who answered the phone. I went in the branch and joined the line at approximately 11:15 AM for the teller because I actually needed her to do something. After she took ten years to print and stamp one sheet of paper that just verifies I have an account and how long, I tell her I need a notary. She told me to wait at the side and she came around and walked to the notary that was in a “little meeting”, she said. She told the notary I was waiting and told me to have a seat by one of the red chairs adjacent to the notary’s office. I sat and some minutes later a lady sat next to me. Because the notary was in a “little meeting” for over an hour, we started talking. I was telling her I had been there since 11:15am. The notary finally came out of her meeting with whom appeared to be the manager perhaps? That lasted more than half of her shift! The notary said who’s first so, I got up. One of the workers sitting in the office right next to the notary ran out and said this older man was waiting before me. I didn’t see him so I didn’t fight it. I sat back down. That man was in there for 30 minutes with the notary! When he finally came out, I’m thinking “yes, I’m next.” WRONG. This light skinned female representative in braids walked over to the notary showing her something on the tablet and said someone was waiting before me. Now I’m annoyed because excuse me? I stood up and was looking for the teller who told me to wait in the chair and she was nowhere to be found. I saw two men walking over to the notary and I said “oh, I actually saw them when I came in.” I didn’t know they were waiting for the notary too because they were sitting at another part of the branch. So the lady with braids, I assumed walked over to me because I was visibly upset. She’s telling me how everyone’s name is on a list and mine isn’t. I explained to her that I saw the teller first and she let the notary know I was waiting and told me to have a seat. The lady let me know since the lady sitting by me was on the list, she was next. I said that wasn’t fair, I had been in the bank before her (the lady knew this as well because we were talking about it prior) and I wasn’t told to sign in. She apologized and LEFT IT TO THE CUSTOMER WHO CAME AFTER ME TO DECIDE IF SHE WANTS ME TO GO BEFORE HER. I turned to the lady and asked politely if she could let me go, I mentioned to her before that I had work at 1pm. Of course the customer did not want to be a Good Samaritan. She let me know she only needed one thing notarized and that she won’t be long and the useless representative in braids walked away. I sat there still looking for the teller to rectify the issue because this was crazy to me. At 12:42pm the two men were still with the notary and I left because I had to get to work. Terrible service, complete dissatisfaction and I didn’t even get my documents notarized!!!! Take your banking needs elsewhere.
