- MDMolly DOct 17, 20255.0I like my local Saugerties MHVFCU. Everyone I interact with there is friendly and helpful. . What inspired me to write this review was my interaction with a man named Danny. I met with him in his office and in the brief time we spent together, Danny was kind enough to answer many of my questions about credit scores, credit cards and other topics related to personal finances. He was really knowledgeable and I learned more about finances than I had in all the years before, combined. People like Danny are why I continue to bank atmto the MHV Federal Credit Union. - HPHerr PoetryJun 6, 20251.0Moved to Mid-Hudson Valley a few years ago, and selected MHV as my new local bank, based on stellar reviews. I primarily use online banking, and have never had such consistently bad experiences with any bank's online platform as I have had with MHV. The first one was programming electronic checks through the bill payment system. Twice (maybe three times?) I programmed checks to merchants, only to have those merchants contact me weeks later asking for the payments I had sent. When I logged in to MHV, I found that those checks had been canceled by MHV's bill pay vendor without any notice. After the first time this happened, I spoke at length with MHV customer service, which (initially not being able to explain why it happened), finally determined that MHV's vendor had canceled the check b/c the merchant (a well established local business) was not recognized. MHV customer service promised me that should this ever happen again, MHV's back office would receive a notification, and would pass that notice on to me, so I could make sure the merchant got paid. Needless to say, the same invisible cancellation of a programmed check happened at least once, maybe twice again, before I was forced to move my bill payment to another, more reliable bank. Since then I minimized my use of MHV, but recently MHV changed it's login procedure/platform. I needed to login, b/c an auto-debit was causing my overdraft account to run a balance that became past due -- and I could not login (I'm a sophisticated computer user). I contacted customer service for help logging in -- and still couldn't do it on any device on any browser. Finally, with another customer service call, I logged in successfully, and instantly paid the overdraft balance. Today I get a credit bureau notification that MHV has reported a 30-day delinquency. MHV staff are very friendly, but the bank has proven itself incompetent, and now ruthlessly retaliatory.
