- LBlaura bellingerMay 1, 20241.0This bank just lost a customer. I used to like the convenience of being able to handle banking transactions after getting a hair cut or groceries next door. Today I wanted to cash a check. First, the cashier kept asking if I had a debit card. What does that have to do with anything? Then she said because of the size of the check ($1700), I would need to run to my truck and get my phone so she could send a one time security code, all of this due to some sort of increased fraud. Really? I provided my license. My account balance can more than cover the $1700 check (which is from a reputable annuity). I went to my other bank and the check was cashed, no questions asked.

Not to mention it being 2012 you would think they would just use electronic transactions with 24 lead times instead of paper drafts with 5 day waiting for bill pay. How is this convenient. Another great example of a small bank getting too big and not improving.
