  Disappointing Notary Service at Valley Bank – Longtime Customers Let Down We have been loyal customers of Valley Bank for over 8 years, holding both savings and checking accounts. However, our recent experience at the 100 Park Ave branch on 02/24/2025 left us extremely disappointed. We visited the branch to have a document notarized, something we have done at various banks without issue for the past 10 years. We had both the original and a copy of the document ready, but the notary at the branch refused to notarize it, stating that she only notarizes ‘bank-related documents.’ When we asked for clarification on what qualifies as a "bank-related document," she was unable to provide a clear answer. To add to our frustration, my wife is a public notary and a former Valley Bank employee, so she is well aware of what can and cannot be notarized. Her professional knowledge made it clear that this refusal was unnecessary and unhelpful. We have always trusted Valley Bank with our finances, but this lack of basic customer service and inability to assist loyal customers is unacceptable. If this is the level of service Valley Bank now provides, we would rather close our accounts and take our business to a bank that actually values and supports its customers. If you’re considering this branch for notary services or general banking needs, be aware that you may not receive the help you expect or deserve.

  One of my favorite banks in NYC, Cathy and Victor are warm and extremely helpful, any time I've had a problem the whole staff works as a team to help me out. 10/10
