  This branch was unable to help us when our grandson was a victim of internet fraud. This bank was not helpful at all.

  On Sep 25, 2025, I went to Citi’s Union Square Flagship branch to open Checking + Savings accounts because I wanted to become a CitiGold client. I met with a banker and a Wealth Relationship Manager. I specifically asked what was the safest way to move $150,000 from my Capital One account into Citi, and I was advised to use a cashier’s check. I followed that guidance. The very next day, Sep 26, Citi blocked my accounts after I deposited the check and moved the money from Checking to Savings for the higher interest rate. Citi’s Fraud Department told me the accounts would be closed, while branch staff said the accounts were still under review for 30–60 days. This situation could have been prevented if local staff had the knowledge to recommend the safest approach (such as a wire transfer or staged deposits). Instead, I followed Citi’s advice in good faith, and now $150,000 of my money might be held for up to 60 days without access. I have since been contacted by Citi’s Executive Response Unit, but as of now I am still waiting for my funds. Customers deserve better than to be punished for following the very instructions given to them at the branch.

  This is the Citibank Headquarters. So it's top notch all the way here. The waiting area looks like someones living room. They were one of the first places to have the Citibank Rental Bike on the Broadway side. Like i said with it being the headquarters there's not a piece of lint on the rug.

  Poor Customer Service and they are a bunch of lazy ***... Banks should be open in normal Business Hours (9AM-5PM) according to the United States Dept.of Labor... but still it should be until 6PM because thats when the Sun sets down and the day is "over" for business...
