The only reason why I'm writing this is because my husband and I have had enough with this specific Ridgewood Bank. I hate to say this but this is my experience.....if you're brown, don't look like you live in the area or simply they don't recognize you.... you WILL be asked to prove your identity. Now that doesn't sound bad because it's to keep your account safe and I totally agree with the extra security. My issue is when you're the only one being asked to present an ID even when they ask you the security questions, which are correctly answered. Every single time this has been mine or my husband experience. I go to this location because it's closer to where I live but I rather go in the Bronx where I feel less safe than come to this location and being treated like I don't belong.

Ridgewood Savings Bank provides a level of customer service that big banks simply don't. My husband needed to increase his debit withdrawal limit in an emergency and was able to immediately speak to the branch manager who was DELIGHTED to help on the spot. They treat you like friends. Truly. They offer the same financial services as the big banks but with attentive focus on the individual customer. It's what a neighborhood bank should be.
