- JJJessAug 13, 20251.0If you are considering buying a house please don't go through Trustco Bank because they are awful! My fiance' got laid off from his job awhile back and he missed a couple of mortgage payments. Once he started working again, he went to Trustco to pay what he owed on the Mortgage. Infact, he paid a little bit more than what he owed on it. The bank teller deposited the money into the bank account and reassured my Fiance' that the mortgage payment was going to go through without any issues. So, we were under the assumption that everything was good and we were all caught up on our mortgage. Well, about a week later..my fiance' receives a letter in the mail from a lawyer that's affiliated with the bank and in the letter was a copy of the mortgage paystubs and it said that the bank was not going to accept the mortgage payments and that we needed to contact the lawyer and setup a payment plan with the lawyer even though my Fiance' already gave the bank the mortgage payments that were owed. Now the bank is taking my Fiance' to court and demanding that he pay them what he already tried paying them months ago and is threatening to foreclose on our home! Why would you deny the mortgage payment when he tried to pay and then turn around and threatening us and demand payment from him? If Trustco accepted the mortgage payments months ago, we wouldn't even be in this situation that we are now in! Thanks Trustco! With that being said, we are contacting a lawyer that handles Foreclosure cases.
