  I want to share my extremely frustrating experience with Citibank. On September 8, 2025, between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m., I made a cash deposit at the drive-thru ATM in the Freeport, NY location to make a payment toward my credit card. During the transaction, the ATM malfunctioned, restarted in the middle of the deposit, and kept my money. The machine did not complete the transaction, did not issue a receipt, and the payment never appeared on my account. Since that day, I have been trying to resolve the issue. I opened two claims with customer service, and both were closed without any explanation and without returning my money. I have had to call multiple times and even send written correspondence, yet there has been no real investigation or resolution. It is unacceptable that a bank of this size fails to take responsibility for an error that happened in one of their own ATMs. Not only did their machine keep my cash, but their customer service has been completely unhelpful and frustrating to deal with. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Citibank. A bank should protect its customers’ money—not leave them abandoned when their own equipment fails. El 8 de septiembre de 2025, entre las 6:00 y 6:30 p.m., realicé un depósito en efectivo en el cajero automático drive-thru de la sucursal de Freeport, NY para hacer un pago a mi tarjeta de crédito. Durante el depósito, el cajero automático se dañó, se reinició en medio de la transacción y retuvo mi dinero. El ATM no completó la operación, no emitió un recibo y el pago nunca apareció en mi cuenta. Desde ese día he estado tratando de resolver el problema. He hecho dos reclamos con servicio al cliente, y ambos fueron cerrados sin explicación y sin devolverme mi dinero. He tenido que enviar cartas, llamar repetidamente y aún así no he recibido una solución ni una investigación clara del incidente. Me parece inaceptable que un banco de este tamaño no se responsabilice por un error ocurrido en uno de sus propios cajeros automáticos. No solo se quedaron con mi depósito, sino que la atención al cliente ha sido completamente inútil y frustrante. Por esta experiencia, no recomiendo Citibank. Un banco debería proteger el dinero de sus clientes, no dejarlos desamparados cuando ocurre un problema causado por sus propios sistemas.

  I don't get the negative Reviews, ATMs are machines sometimes the go down.... anyways, I was a victim of FRAUD about a year ago a ANNA the Branch Manager went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help my recover my LIFE SAVINGS!!!.... ATMs are the least of my worries when it comes to banking and making sure my money is safe, know that the people guarding our money is safe is what really matters and in my opinion this branch and the staff are are a PRIME EXAMPLE. I will forever be GREATFUL to ANNA for her help.

  Worst costumer service !! I live in Freeport and now prefer to go to the Merrick branch ! Save yourself the time !

  In my opinion it is not point to keep this branch open. Nothing specific. Everything doesn't reach decent financial institution level. It is sad. There is not a single thing , except for , may be, somebody job. Worth to save in the entire branch. Lack of understanding people needs or the intention to hurt the institution's prestige, but people are not working , either for their pride or for the salary. (Whatever salary or the fear to have no job , may be the reason) . Anyway, it is not only the bank but both, the bank and the customers are simply not receiving attention.

  This branch has possibly the snottiest tellers I've ever met. The only reason why I didn't feel very insulted is because I could barely understand them through their horribly broken English.
