Received the check from my lawyer in fredonia and the check is from lake shore savings. They put a 10 day hold on the check and wouldn’t even release a portion of the funds. It doesn’t make sense that it takes 10 days to verify a check that is from a bank a block away. That’s what’s making me mad about key bank.

- KRKelly RJun 12, 20245.0After a frustrating situation with the Lakewood branch, the Dunkirk branch came to the rescue! Here's the whole situation: I had called the Lakewood location 3 times to try to make an appointment to set up a business account and it was nearly impossible. The first time I called Lakewood, I was told I'd need to call back on Wednesday when Katie Samuelson is available. I called back on Wednesday and talked to Katie. She didn't have anything available that day so I asked her about other availability to which she let me know that I can call ahead on Wednesdays before I come in. A few weeks had passed (due to my recently not having a car during the day) but I finally had a vehicle made available to me on this particular Wednesday so I wanted to set up my account. I called to let Katie know I'd like to come in to set up an account. She told me that she had a conference call but said I could come in "right now." Unfortunately, I live 25 minutes away so that wasn't possible. I asked if she'd be there until 4 (the bank's closing time) to which she replied "no." Then she proceeded to ask me if I'd be able to come in on Thursday. I specifically had a car made available for Wednesday because that is the day that she said she'd be available. The whole situation was just frustrating so I called the Key Bank location in Dunkirk. They had no problem getting me in same-day with Tony. I asked if he'd be there until 4. The woman I spoke to sounded surprised and said "yes, we're open til 4 so he'll be here." I was able to make an appointment for 2:30, no problem. Very refreshing. I'm not sure why the Lakewood location has their only person on business accounts working such narrow and random hours but you'd think they'd have more availability given the fact that other businesses need banking services on days other than just Wednesday. I will ONLY be doing business at the Dunkirk location going forward. I would not recommend the Lakewood location to any business.
