- SCSue CorpAug 7, 20251.0I am POA for my elderly father’s accounts. I noticed fraudulent activity on his checking account on a Saturday. What a nightmare to deal with Key Bank for this issue🤬. I first contacted the fraud line three times and got NO ANSWER! Line just kept ringing. I then went to a branch. The teller advised she was not able to help me; I was told I had to contact the fraud line. I was then told no one was available at the branch to help me because the one person who might be able to help me had appointments all morning. Frustrated, I sat down in the lobby and again tried to contact the fraud line. This time the line was answered by someone overseas who was difficult to understand. To make things even more frustrating, this person claimed he was not able to assist me, and if I was already at a branch then I should have someone at the branch assist me🤬. This person then told me that there was no record of the POA on file🤬🤬🤬. So Key Bank has the POA but the fraud center does not?! Meanwhile, the teller is calling out to me asking if she can make an appointment for me to meet with someone at another branch. Question: if your checking account is being drained, do you want it taken care of immediately or do you want to make an appointment? Extreme frustration - I was heading out of town for several days and needed to get the fraudulent activity taken care of ASAP, so my last resort was to close out the account and move the money to a different bank. Amazingly, as I was almost finished closing out the account, someone at the branch became available to help me. Three hours of my life that I will never get back. This experience was beyond ridiculous. I am dumbfounded that Key Bank does not see any urgency in stopping fraudulent activity.
