  Disgraceful bank. Was charged $37 for an overdraft ‘returned item fee’ for an accidental payment of $24 which was returned within a couple of hours. Manager refused to refund the fee, stating it was due to the fact it occurred ‘overnight’… despite the fact Northwest online banking isn’t available after 8pm- meaning you can’t transfer funds or see accurate amounts in your accounts. Meanwhile, ordering a new card at the branch is a ridiculous hassle due to their unreasonable hours. I am very unhappy with this poor excuse for a bank service.

  The in-person staff are great people. However, if you told me that the customer service for Northwest had a secret employee who actively made my experience with them as difficult as possible, I wouldn't be surprised in any way. Forced password changes constantly. Loses contact with my venmo somehow so I can't send money. Mobile deposits will fail for terrible reasons such as "a corner of the paper was out of the shot." I've had to use an LED Headlamp to illuminate checks to successfully deposit because their mobile deposit camera control and brightness are utter garbage. The mobile app is trash to the point that I use the desktop website on mobile instead. Their debit cards are flimsy and don't even have tap to pay last time I got one. If you need a decent bank, enlist in the Army and get Navy Federal. You'll have FAR less hassle than you would with Northwest.

  This bank has been amazing for me and my company. Always going beyond what other banks would do. Gretchen will make sure you are taken care of to the fullest as she does for me.

  Mobile banking does not work. Now they want a $3.00 "paper statement fee" for EACH account for every month they send you a paper statement...no mention of it in secure message portal...then I go to check the "Statements" tab to update my communication preferences and get an Authentication Error on the mobile app and the site. Northwest is awful. Do yourself a favor and go to M&T
