- JCJeff CooperAug 27, 20251.0Barbara's treatment of my wife was completely unacceptable, and the worst I have ever seen from business interaction... My wife and her brother (who lives across the country) were granted a co-guardianship over their father, and the court order specifically says that they can act independently of each other in executing their duties (it's a very simple but clear one paragraph document...). She gave them the documents for their legal department to review before meeting for an appointment to access the accounts. Her appointment was cancelled because the legal department supposedly didn't approve. My wife called in to ask for clarification, and Barbara would only respond that legal didn't approve. We asked to speak with legal to get clarification and she refused, because apparently Barbara read it herself and is competent to make that decision... I'm an attorney, and I do this with banks all the time. Legal departments are supposed explain why an order is denied so it can be fixed (but this is the second one, it doesn't need to be fixed, it was specifically drafted with WF's feedback in mind). We tried to call to get an explanation or instructions to contact legal, but Barbara berated us both and spoke over us almost the entire time. This should go without saying, but guardianships never happen in ideal circumstances. We're under a tight deadline to get this done, and we are being refused access. Her treatment was shocking and completely unacceptable. Once this is over, I'm going to pull all our services away from this terrible institution, and I'm going to persuade my clients to as well.
