  Hi, I recently spent time with one of TD's mortgage advisers, who conducted a credit check and collected all of my personal and financial information, including my tax assessments. As you know, a credit check can impact my credit score, and I provided this information in good faith, expecting a fair and transparent process. After reviewing my details, the adviser provided a mortgage rate but mentioned that, since I am not a permanent resident, another adviser or broker would follow up with me to assist further. I had already disclosed my nationality and residency status at the beginning of the process. Later, I received a call from the main adviser, who informed me that because of my nationality TD Bank would not be able to offer me any services. If this is indeed TD’s policy, I understand and respect that. However, I am deeply disappointed that this was only communicated to me after a full credit check and the sharing of sensitive information. This could have been handled more professionally and respectfully from the outset. A polite and transparent explanation at the beginning would have saved time and avoided unnecessary stress. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider improving the way such situations are handled in the future.
