WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE? My branch is an old 1st Constitution Bank on Hooper Ave. in Toms River but they certainly don't understand customer service. They prefer to work on their emails so they can run out of their bank as soon as the bank closes.
YES, I am a customer but based on how I am treated you wouldn't think so.
Assistant Branch Manager, Andrea Gatto, has treated me poorly since I started using this bank (I selected this location based on the proximity to my home).
My last visit there was approximately at 3pm during the week (forgot the date) and I enter the 1012 Hooper Ave. Toms River Branch and there were NO customers inside. I thought this will be fast; NOT. I walk up to Andrea's desk, who is working on answering her emails, and ask her for help. Andrea proceeds to tell me she is busy but she will with me shortly (REMEMBER -No other customers inside). So I proceed to sit at her desk but she says not there go to the waiting area which I do.
After waiting about 7 minutes watching Andrea continuing to answer her emails, I notice the Manager of the Branch, Suzanne Mealia, walk into her office. So I get up and walk over to her office and she is working on her emails also. I ask her for her assistance and she gets annoyed and states she is too busy. So I get loud and say so both Andrea and Suzanne could hear, " So emails are more important than a customer" and then Andrea says I will be right with you. So I go back and sit down in the waiting area for another couple of minutes while Andrea finishes the email she is working on. Andrea then says to me, "I can help you now". This is a good 10 minutes later and still with no other customers in the bank.
So they both proved that emails are more important than customers, so today I will close the account because of the very poor customer service I received.
I have since found a better bank who actually treats me like I am a valuable customer.
In case you are wondering, it is Provident Bank (also in Toms River).
Hopefully this review prevents you from being treated as I was.
