This institution doesn't have a work around in house to put hyphenated last names. This particular location was also not the most pleasant to visit. I had made a 10am appointment online the night before, after hours. I came in and a boomer of teller was unable to find my details. Apparently, noone checked their emails between 9-10 to see it populate due to "meetings all morning." Instead of taking my confirmation number, she made a fuss and made it seem like I was inconveniencing them. A middle aged woman in a tee shirt came around and patiently walked her through how to check her email and update their booking system. 🙄 OK, maybe the system changed or is new. I sit down with a representative and explain the error code I recieved when attempting to open a business account online. He doesn't know what that error code means and we proceed. All the while the desk next to his has a speaker phone on, of a refresher training course on real estate transactions. You don't provide your employees with headphones? Just strange and super distracting, especially when she walked away several times leaving it to play for everyone else... but I digress. The representative we had seemed less than confident and we trudged through setting up personal & business information. The same teller that was rude to us upon arrival was not particularly nice to the couple of older patrons coming in attempting to use the atm outside (it was being serviced). FORTY FIVE minutes into this, the representative lets us know he can't get the computer to take my last name as legally stated on my license. He had the same middle-aged woman who assisted earlier come over and verify/try to get to work. He offered to put my last name in with a space in between, but I asked about legal ramifications of it not matching my legal name. He tried to assure me that it wouldn't be an issue. As someone who has worked in lawfirms before, a simple typo/misspelled name can leads to YEARS of delay and paperwork should anything happen. This is also another "alias" I would have to list on background checks, etc. Then he seemed genuinely shocked when I didn't want to continue to open the account. Clearly this bank isn't for me. Fix your coding Truist.

I have been to this Truist Bank location in West Deptford several times. There is a teller there and her name is Carol and she is great! I have been there while she has had to help people with problems and she always helps them. I have had no problems since BB&T changed to Truist. The change was easy. I also use the branch in Mullica Hill and going there has worked well too. The tellers there are also good and I’m sure they could help with any problem but as I said initially Carol is exceptional.
