Our family inherited my late mother’s stock and insurance assets through Wells Fargo, which were managed by Jeffrey Vogel beginning in 2021. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend working with Jeffrey Vogel or this Wells Fargo branch.
There are three main reasons for this:
1. Misleading First Impressions:
At the outset, Jeffrey presented himself as a kind, professional, and trustworthy advisor who would handle our accounts with care and guide us through the estate transition smoothly. He assured us that he could oversee the transfer of funds between our estate account and personal accounts efficiently. However, this confidence did not translate into responsible or informed management as time went on.
2. Poor Advice Leading to Long-Term Issues:
Jeffrey advised us not to close one of my mother’s accounts during the estate process. This turned out to be a costly mistake. We later discovered that, without a specific clause in the estate documentation, the account needed to remain open to handle any later findings. Because of this oversight, we were forced to reopen the estate account years later, causing unnecessary delays, frustration, and expense.
3. Mishandling of Investments and Poor Communication:
Jeffrey also mishandled one of our investment accounts, resulting in approximately $30,000 in losses. He failed to properly advise us on when to sell or adjust holdings, and the account suffered significant decline under his watch. When we attempted to discuss these issues, he was unresponsive, often deflecting us to his assistants, who were neither cooperative nor professional. It took months of repeated attempts before we could get any meaningful response, and by then, the damage had been done.
In the beginning, Jeffrey was personable and courteous, but over time it became clear that our financial well-being was not his priority. Based on this experience, I would not recommend working with Jeffrey Vogel or Wells Fargo for estate or investment management.
I also want to mention that the staff members at the Wells Fargo branch itself were incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. I don’t remember the name of the woman who helped us most toward the end, but she truly went above and beyond, and I appreciate her efforts.
That said, looking back years later, I feel it’s important to share this review so others are aware of the larger issues we experienced with Jeffrey Vogel’s management and advice. While the branch team was kind and professional, the financial guidance and account handling we received were deeply disappointing and caused lasting complications.
