Came during my lunch break (Friday) to have some real estate documents notarized. A couple of minutes after a QR code check-in, Selekumo greeted me and then efficiently executed her notary service. She thoroughly explained and clarified a couple of documents, particularly a wire transfer authorization. I appreciated and graciously thanked her, as I was out in 20 minutes!

I went to TD Bank today around noon to do a wire transfer. I waited for my turn, and when it finally came up, Mr. Scott was available to assist me. I always appreciate when people are kind, but unfortunately, Mr. Scott was not. Expressions and body language say a lot, and his were not welcoming at all.
Since I didn’t have the correct routing number for the wire transfer, I asked if I could get a cashier’s check instead. He told me there would be a charge of $8. I specifically mentioned that my account type does not incur a fee for cashier’s checks.
I even pulled up the account details and explained that I had previously received a cashier’s check free of charge. However, he was insistent and kept saying that wasn’t the case. He then directed me to the main customer service desk, where—guess what—I received a cashier’s check at no cost, just as I had said.
Note:
I would kindly request that TD Bank provide additional training to employees on empathy, customer service and especially on your products, fees and offers. It was clear that Mr. Scott has not only forgotten but also was conveying wrong information. Many people change banks due to poor customer service experiences. This training would also benefit employees, as customers take time out of their busy schedules to visit the bank and get their tasks completed. This rating is based on Mr. Scott's irresponsible and racist behavior.
Thank you. 🙏🏻

After seeing so many negative comments I was a little be hesitant to open an account with this bank, but the service Kareem offered exceeded my expectations; it was good to see a young guy like him with a friendly attitude and great customer service skills.

I am writing to formally share my disappointment regarding the service I received during a recent visit to your branch on Sunday for notary services.
Upon arrival, I was greeted politely, and shortly after, another staff member asked how they could help few minutes after. Not sure what everyone is doing there are 4 people behind the teller section. I explained that I needed a document notarized. I was instructed to scan a QR code and sign in, even though there were no other customers waiting. Not sure why need to scan anything.
Once signed in, I approached a gentleman named Scott, who was seated behind a desk. Rather than addressing me directly or inviting me over respectfully, he simply waved me in after I signed in. This initial interaction already felt impersonal and unprofessional.
When I explained that both I and the individual accompanying me had accounts at the bank, Scott questioned us repeatedly about our account status, even after I had confirmed it twice. His tone came across as dismissive rather than helpful. He said if you don't have bank accounts then we can't do it. Unsure why he kept trying to tell us that we had to make sure we had bank accounts. Already said it multiple times. This was leading to frustration.
One of the documents I brought had been signed in advance. Instead of taking the opportunity to explain courteously that signatures must be witnessed by a notary, Scott responded in a condescending manner, implying wrongdoing by stating it was done "in public without a notary." He could have said it nicely sir can you reprint the document and bring it back.
This interaction left me feeling disrespected and even more frustrated. I understand and respect notary protocols, but the manner in which information is conveyed makes a significant difference. The tone, body language, and overall attitude demonstrated by the staff, particularly Scott, were unprofessional and unwelcoming.
As a long-time customer of this bank, I am genuinely reconsidering my relationship due to this negative experience. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously and lead to improvements in both service training and customer interaction. Not sure if he did not want my business because I came in with shorts and t-shirt. Maybe it was the way I dressed. Reality is TD bank is not what it used to be. No one wants to work hard anymore. People just want money to flip burgers at high salaries. If you don't like your job then quit. Now I have invested unnecessary time to come in to this Piscataway branch and did not achieve my goal.
I left the bank and then decided to reprint my document and went to the South Plainfield branch. I was greeted within seconds and asked sir what do you need? I told them I needed a Notary. I didn't have to sign a bar code like the Piscataway office. There was also no one waiting. The gentleman that assisted me was Zain. He politely told us to come to his desk and follow him. Zain pulled out the chairs for us. This is called old fashion banking with respect to client and customer. He asked for IDs and reviewed the document and we signed, he stamped and signed and we were done. What an amazing Employee. Pure differences in experiences.
