- AYAnnie YuMay 14, 20251.0I visited the Wells Fargo branch at 396 Renaissance Blvd E, North Brunswick, expecting a routine transaction, but left deeply disappointed. The banker assisting me was clearly untrained and unfamiliar with basic identity verification procedures. She asked disjointed and arbitrary questions to challenge my identity — despite the fact that I showed clear evidence: my bi-weekly salary deposits into the account and real-time access to my mobile banking app. Even more baffling, she accepted and deposited a check into my account without issue, but then inexplicably refused my request to withdraw a small portion of those very funds. The situation only got worse when the branch supervisor got involved. Instead of resolving the issue, he made a snide and humiliating joke about my ability to memorize information — an uncalled-for and disrespectful remark. After I again demonstrated I was the rightful account holder, I simply asked for an explanation. Rather than providing one, he became absurdly defensive and condescending, refusing to clarify the bank’s actions as if doing so would somehow undermine his authority. Frustrated and embarrassed, I left and went directly to the Wells Fargo branch on Rt. 27 in Somerset. There, the entire identity verification and withdrawal process was handled professionally and efficiently — all completed in under 5 minutes. This experience at the North Brunswick branch was degrading and entirely avoidable. If you value respectful, competent service, I strongly recommend avoiding this location.
