Provident Bank serves individuals, families, and businesses in our local communities with personal and business banking services. What you need? We’ve got it. You are our commitment. That’s why we strive to deliver a mix of innovative services, social impact, and real connection to simplify your life and power your dreams.
As a local nonprofit sports league, we had used Lakeland for years without any issues whatsoever. Once they were bought by Provident, our experience dramatically changed. In the last three months alone, my business debit card has been put on hold three times for so-called suspicious charges (purchases of sports equipment and business services). After wasting an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out why various payments were not going through a few months ago, I eventually found out that the bank had placed a hold and called to clear it. That’s when I learned that they somehow have the wrong phone number AND the wrong email address on the account, so the fraud alerts are apparently going to individuals completely unrelated to our organization.
Of course, I have to go into the bank to get these contact details corrected, even after verifying my identity and connection with our account ten different ways. I could maybe appreciate their commitment to security if it weren’t for the fact that they are wholly concerned that one or more unknown individuals have access to our bank alerts.
So until I’m able to get there in person, I keep having to call in to get these fraud alerts lifted. Within days of clearing one, another one is triggered and my card stops working. This seriously hinders my ability to run this organization alongside my full-time job.
I have shared these frustrations with Provident, but they have fallen on death ears. I have requested an investigation into all of these issues, but—shockingly—I’ve heard nothing back. We will be changing banks as soon as our spring season ends!!

The good workers left and went to Fredon Lakeland. Always an issue at this bank now.
