Alana Young's review was heartbreaking. How can someone be allowed to treat her family that way as bank tellers and bank manager stands by and do nothing? Other reviews, regarding Capital One, has helped me to make another choice. Banks used to have higher standards, quality service and a welcoming atmosphere that made you want to do business with them. But now, looking at all the reviews has made me skeptical. Mrs. Young I hope that your experience has reached Capital One. I'm sorry that you and your family had to endure that.

Came in there to ask and consult banking options. Instead of taking me in and having me sit down with a teller, they directed me to speak with a teller in the front behind the glass which is very hard for anybody to hear especially when the teller can’t speak up and felt uncomfortable asking questions in front of people in line. The teller said that they need to have 2 people behind the glass counters, how is that the customers problem? Hire more people and you’ll gain costumers. Never going to another capital one bank and the 1 star reviews before this I wouldn’t be surprise at all.

It’s taken me a long time to write this review, as this event happened a few months ago.
My family was verbally accosted at this Capital One by another customer for having children present, and the staff stayed silent.
My husband and I normally do our banking online, but we had to take care of something that required both of our signatures in person, which meant bringing my newborn and toddler. We got there at opening, hoping to be in and out before the kids got antsy. We were among the first in line, yet somehow, we were standing around for over an hour. We were polite about it. We did not let my toddler run around, and we did our best to entertain him with toys and I Spy, which some of the customers played with him. As time went on, the line built up behind us. We were told that we were waiting on a phone call for “approval”, but not much else. About an hour in, a male customer turned to us and started screaming at us that “this isn’t a playground, it’s a place of business and these employees are too nice to tell you to leave.” He raged on, while the staff stayed silent letting him speak for them. Not only had I politely asked the staff numerous times to please hurry if they can because my toddler was getting antsy, but we held him still the entire time so he wouldn’t disturb anyone. We thought about taking him outside, but given it is a parking lot off of a main road, determined it wasn’t safe.
It was then that several people on the line, and two men in particular came to our defense and told this man he was being disrespectful and not to yell at a child (a two year old no less).
All of the customers made us feel welcome and ran this gentleman, who was CLOSING his account by the way, out of the store. It was only after he left and I started crying (while postpartum) that an employee came over and tried to comfort me and lend her support. I appreciate the late effort, but the damage was done and I just wanted to take my kid to the park for being so patient. No one from the bank called me to apologize- I am a long time customer since I was college age (a long time ago) and this man wasn’t even a customer anymore. I understand that CO is understaffed and that its employees are not paid to break up near fights (the men were talking about taking it outside at one point), but to not ask him to leave or at least try to de escalate the situation is unforgivable. Your silence told me and everyone else at the bank that day that this behavior is tolerated and welcome. I never want to step foot in your bank or any bank again after that situation, and I think all families would agree that we shouldn’t need to hire a babysitter to take care of our needs. I know this review will likely achieve nothing, but I hope it taught you to stand up for your customers and make them feel more welcome in your establishment, especially families who move heaven and earth just to be there.
