  Turned away two hours before closing from doing a transaction and was asked to make an appointment for a different day because the manager is currently opening a business account for someone. Not what I expected but maybe should have expected from the bank merger.

  I stopped by on 9/6 at 5:35 pm to open up a debit card, the teller that i spoke to had a white shirt on, I asked her if it was possible to open up an account today and she said due to the time it would be best to come back tomorrow since they’re closing soon - ok no problem. The actual problem is that without asking any questions she told me to bring my green card in for the process…I am of Hispanic descent but this is an incredibly rude and racial assumption. I told her I was a US citizen just imagine walking in here and a teller of different descent is assuming without asking that you’re not a citizen based on how you look. It’s a shame that some Kearny residents would have to deal with this behavior. None the less I was still polite and asked the questions I needed to in which one minute she told me to bring my social the next minute she said I didn’t need it and just the number, I don’t believe she should be the one talking to people that want to open up new accounts. I will not be returning to open up an account here
