  This bank is horrific. Worst bank on this planet. Only bank that is worse is one that is closing & you can't get your $$ out. Other than that, any other bank would be better than Flagstar. I opened an online high yield savings account and ACH'd $$ into it. Then, to my surprise, they locked up my money for 3 weeks! Imagine not being able to touch your own $$ for 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks I decided to pull out 10% of what I deposited, using the same ACH account with Wells Fargo I used to send the $$ to them. I never received the funds and then find out the ACH failed and they locked my account. Now they wanted various docs sent to them to unlock it. I go to the Brick location inside Shoprite. Another mistake. I tell the lady @ the front that I want to close my account. She says I need to speak to the manager and she is in the bathroom. Standing there waiting I see her coming back & the teller tells her what is going on and then the manager disappears. Turns out she went out front to have a cigarette before helping me. She then goes in her office, wouldn't let me come in and sit down, then comes out to tell me she can't do anything without the required paperwork. Even though I have a driver's license, credit cards with my pic on them, etc. So, I go home, get the docs, come back, give it to her, still from outside as she won't let me come in and sit in her office. She says she has to send them to corporate and has no idea how long it will be. I sit around for about an hour and still nothing. I ask her to call them and escalate the issue, she says she can't call anyone. I leave. I left the next morning on a trip and came back and went to the Toms River branch. Gus, the manager, was awesome. My account was still locked but he unlocked it. Wait what? Why can he do it and the cigarette smelling manager couldn't? Simple, one person knows what he is doing & the other doesn't. He closed my account and gave me my check. Wait, something is wrong? The interest paid was the same as shown 20 days ago on the 1st of the month. Where is my accrued interest. Guess what, you lose it!!!!!!! Based on how much I had in there, I lost over $300 in interest because I didn't wait until the 1st. One hell of a departing gift. DO NOT USE THIS BANK. ***Per their response below, I messaged them on FB. They asked for my contact info and I was contacted by a rep. She asked what she can do to fix this situation & I said get me my accrued interest. So far, I haven't heard back***

  I see most of the reviews out here are years old. I recently switched to Flagstar bank and the one inside the ShopRite in Brick is my closest one. I've gone there 5 times in the last 2 months. 3 times I used a teller and 2 times I deposited cash at the ATM at the branch. The tellers I used were GREAT - very friendly and fast. The ATM is accessible any time the food store is open - which is like 6A until 10P and you can deposit CASH! I love this bank!

  Wish I could give a zero. Their customer service is horrible! My husband spoke to Jane last Monday, 5/10, informing her of an account that his grandmother had left him. For some context his sister had been left one as well and Dawn in Sayerville kindly helped her. My husband informed this branch that she could be reached because there was some issue on how it was set up. They told my husband that they would reach out to him when they resolved it. A week later, today, 5/17, we stopped back in and asked why he hadn't been contacted and they said they emailed Dawn and that there was nothing they could do. I stepped in asking how my sister in law had it resolved in an hour when they couldn't get it resolved in a week and they gave us some lame answer about how people were working from home. I asked if there was another branch near by that might be better able to assist us, because they are only a satellite location, and was told no. I laughed because I know there's a Tom's river location and knew now that she just did not want to be bothered with actually working. An hour and a half later after my husband visited the Tom's River branch the account has been closed. Moral of the story, don't waste your time here, they do not want to make any effort to assist their customers at this location and ultimately this location should be closed so the Dunkin doughnuts next door can expand as they had a line out the door and limited space to work.

  The hours are incorrect the bank is closed from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on weekdays

  The tellers who work at this bank are very friendly and professional. This bank is good for several reasons, the main one being that they don't sock you with a bunch of nonsense fees like some other banks do. If you have one of their convenient check cards, here is a little tip to avoid any fees. When you go to use it at any store, choose "Visa Credit" instead of "Debit" at the checkout. Sign for the purchase, don't punch-in your PIN number. That way there is no fee for using the card. If you choose "Debit", there will be a fee. This branch is located inside of the Shoprite supermarket, where I do most of my grocery shopping. It is very easy and again, convenient!
