- TATimothy AalerudNov 8, 20251.0I recently went to the TD Bank branch in Nashua, NH, where I have two accounts that I haven’t used in about a year. I went in planning to open a new business account, but while I was there, I found out I’d been charged $20 a month per account since May — a total of around $200. When I first opened the accounts, the balance needed to avoid the fee was $2,000, which I had. Apparently, they raised the minimum to $2,500 back in May, but I wasn’t aware of that change and never received any notice about it. Because of this, I decided to close both accounts. They did refund $40 per account, totaling $80, which I appreciated, but I was still disappointed that I wasn’t made aware of the new balance requirement beforehand. I understand banks can update their policies, but customers should be clearly informed when those changes result in new fees. This experience left me with little confidence in TD Bank’s communication and customer service.
