A not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members, SECU has been providing employees of the State of North Carolina and their families with consumer financial services for over 80 years.
I had a fantastic experience working with Cindy at SECU on Stratford Rd today! I called with multiple questions about my mortgage account, and she was incredibly patient and thorough. Cindy took the time to explain all the details clearly and made sure I understood everything. Her knowledge and professionalism were outstanding. She even suggested additional resources that could further assist me, which I truly appreciated. Cindy exemplifies excellent customer service—thank you for making a potentially stressful situation feel manageable and informative!

Terrible customer service as this SECU. I went to apply for a mortgage loan today , my appointment was at 4.15 and went to the Stratford Road branch. The lady there for the mortgage loan was just so rude, and unhelpful every question you ask she doesn’t know and she just didn’t want to help. She looked at me and my husband like we were nothing ,I was mad and just walked off .It was my fist time going over there, but never again. We went to the SECU branch on Peter’s Creek Pwky the people there was so friendly and I got approved and they were very helpful and knowledgeable, and everything went smoothly.

I got a new phone & did not remember my login information for the online account. I called at 5:13pm and specifically requested assistance from the male that answered the phone. Instead of him assisting me, he transferred me to the 1-800 number which informed me my wait would be 14 minutes. In my opinion he was just lazy & pathetic. The inside of this branch barely has 2 customers waiting at the same time. I immediately hung up and called back several times because they were just letting it ring. My last call, Monique picked up and assisted me. My next move if no one had answered was going inside because I was located 10 minutes away but thought it would be courteous to do it over the phone since I wouldn’t arrive until 5:25pm. I only gave 3 stars because Monique assisted me & stayed on the phone with me until I got in — which deserves 5 stars. Fantastic customer service every time she assist me when I go inside. It literally took 4 minutes for her to help me. I guess that was 1 minute too long from what the male that answered the phone wanted to do —because it was after 5pm. If I rated his service it would be 0 stars because he didn’t even attempt to provide customer service to a member. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Great. Too bad LFGCU has decided not to merge. Now I'm stuck with Civic CU
