  I went here today to deposit a check that I received from my school for student loans. Yes, the check was for a large amount, but it was legit. The teller was very sweet and told me that she had to get someone to verify the check. That was no problem. I didn't mind waiting, and I was very patient during the process. So her and the supervisor were whispering about me while I was standing there, it made me feel a little uncomfortable, but I stayed polite and professional. The manager goes to tell me after they were finished, whispering that there will be an extended hold on my check and the system is stating that it may not be paid. That made me a little upset because I have been getting these checks cashed and deposited for almost 4 years now. I kind of felt like I was being treated this way because I just opened up an account and they do not know me. Not everyone is a scammer or out to do fraudulent activities. After she said that to me, I left and drove 10 minutes to a check cashing place, and it was cashed immediately like they have been before in the past. I returned to deposit all of the cash into my new bank account and all eyes were on me in shock. I was even asked how much did I pay to get it cashed by the teller! They weren't rude to me. They were actually friendly, but I do feel like I was judged off of trying to cash a check, and I am an unfamiliar person with a new account. A word of advice. It is not polite to whisper about someone in front of them and to tell them false things that makes it seem as if you are trying to incriminate them. I don't plan on going inside the branch anymore. I will just make use of my mobile banking, because of this incident. FYI, Janet helped me a lot and she was very nice to me with helping me verify myself and change my contact information. She is the reason that I gave four stars.

  Greeted as soon as I walked through the door by Eloise, Teller. As soon as I stated that I was there to cash a check I was asked "to have a seat and wait for a personal banker to bring it back to the teller." I waited for exactly 15 minutes before receiving help from a personal banker. In the meantime two tellers sat at their workstations and gossiped. I asked why Wells Fargo had to go through a special process to cash a Wells Fargo check. I was told that it was because they have fraud checks. While this makes sense, it's upsetting that I'm expected to wait to get a reason why. Wells Fargo Corp. should take note that this branch is failing your customers and frequently upsets customers. Fix it.
