I wish we would have read the reviews before opening an account here, but it’s a bank, so we assumed we wouldn’t need to. We opened a joint account online in September, and because we had issues adding the second account holder, we went into the branch for assistance.
Olivia “helped,” but rushed through disclosures and claimed she ordered my debit card. Fast-forward an entire month, and I still don’t have one. My partner went to the branch today and was told, by Olivia, I simply needed to come in to receive a temporary card. Fine, I came in.
The moment she saw me, Olivia had an attitude and insisted she never told my partner that. Instead of acknowledging her own mistake, she chose to argue with the customer. At that point, I asked for my ID back because the experience was already unacceptable.
Before leaving, I requested a supervisor because too many red flags have happened in such a short time. The manager then confirmed exactly what my partner was told, meaning Olivia did misspeak. Yet she tried to shift the blame onto us rather than take accountability.
That was the final straw.
If Olivia had simply admitted her error, this review would not exist. Instead, she doubled down in a rude and unprofessional manner.
This has been an unnecessarily frustrating, unwelcoming, and frankly discriminatory experience. We will be withdrawing our funds within 30 days once all pending checks clear.
This is absolutely not the level of professionalism we expect, especially from a bank.
Tighten up your training, Truist. Our trust is already gone.

Took 10 minutes at drive thru for a simple withdrawal. No one else in any of the drive thru lanes! Why?

A deposit in excess of $200,000 from a real estate sale was deposited early on 11/15/24. Numerous calls were rebuffed & we were told they could not answer our questions because it was a business account but they could for a personal account. Also, the deposit slip said $5,500 was available but we told we could only withdraw $100. Will file complaint with the State. Brother who should not have access withdrew $600 today immediately after the deposit.
