- DFDon FOXMay 13, 20251.0I had a guaranteed offer for a term life policy elsewhere, but I saw that Guardian had good reviews, so I thought they might find me a better rate. Ha! They first required me to fill out an insanely detailed and complicated medical questionnaire, seemingly demanding to know every malady I have ever suffered. Next, they insisted I get a full medical checkup, despite me just having one A WEEK EARLIER. They spent the next few months asking me the most nitpicking questions about my health, but I tolerated it in the interest of saving money. HUGE MISTAKE. During this time, I had a birthday which permanently disqualified me from obtaining the original policy I was guaranteed. Then finally, FOUR MONTHS after I first inquired, they got back to me with an offer that would have cost me FOUR TIMES as much as my original policy! Contacting them was one of the worst decisions of my life, as now I will probably NEVER be able to obtain life insurance at a reasonable rate ANYWHERE.
