A not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members, SECU has been providing employees of the State of North Carolina and their families with consumer financial services for over 80 years.
I have been banking with state employees for over 4 years and I’ve never been treated how they treated me at any other branch I recently fell behind on my loan I am human I go through things but at the end of the day I still put money towards it but I guess it wasn’t enough for them so instead of them trying to work things out with me they put me on blast in front of the whole branch questioned me about my lifestyle and treated me like I wasn’t even a customer they talked to me so poorly and made it seem like I was trying to run off with the money that I’m currently trying my best to pay off they stereotyped me and didn’t care about how they went about the situation and they don’t give any privacy they leave the door wide open the manager for the loans kept raising her voice at me and talked to me like I was child And it’s one lady at the far end at the window at the drive thru she is rude as hell too she was the first one to say anything rude to me all because I had my window rolled up while she was trying to get my attention and she went crazy on me and they let her I thought talking talking to the manager would work but she took up for her co-workers they basically ganged up on me . After I finish paying this off I will be finding me another bank, they don’t treat us people equally .

This branch while convenient to my location, is by far, the worst for customer service. In my experience, when entering the establishment, you get a look of "here comes another one". Never a warm greeting when entering or leaving. If you do have a business transaction between prepared to spend the better part of your day.
Do yourself a favor and use the branch on Glenburnie. Totally different experience.

Currently this is a brand new branch conveniently located right off Highway 70 downtown New Bern. This place although Spacey, & roomie is horribly staffed. Friday afternoon at 4:30pm only 2 front cashiers working and 1 drive thru cashier. There are 7 available spaces in the front for cashiers and 4 drive-through lines available. They need to have more staff up front especially on Friday afternoons.
Update: 7/20/18
Friday afternoon 4:30 only one cashier up front and one on drive thru. I'm standing in line for 13 minutes waiting....
