A not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members, SECU has been providing employees of the State of North Carolina and their families with consumer financial services for over 80 years.
It's important to be careful and protect your credit when choosing a bank to trust with your financial information. Unfortunately, there are some banks that fall short when it comes to customer service, professionalism, and privacy. One such bank is "SECU on Carbon City Rd.", and I want to share my experience and warn others to be cautious when dealing with this institution.
The staff at SECU seem to lack knowledge and competence when it comes to answering simple questions or handling customer concerns. On top of that, they have been incredibly rude in my interactions with them. I've heard similar stories from friends and family who have had negative experiences with this bank. It's clear that there is a serious cultural decline within the institution since Mr. Hawkins took over as manager.
In one specific incident, I had a disagreement with Mr. Hawkins over a matter that I was sure I was correct on. Despite my insistence, he refused to listen and even insulted me. Eventually, I was proven right, but it was unacceptable for him to behave in such a disrespectful manner.
Furthermore, SECU has a serious issue with privacy. They shout out payment information over intercoms, which can be heard by anyone in the vicinity. This is a major breach of privacy and could lead to serious consequences for customers.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with SECU to think twice. Protect your credit and your privacy by choosing a more reliable and trustworthy bank.
