A not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members, SECU has been providing employees of the State of North Carolina and their families with consumer financial services for over 80 years.
Honestly so upset with how this bank has done business. I’ve used NCSECU since I started my first job. Have made all my payments and everything. Went to pay off my credit card via my Visa debit card just to find out they had closed out my debit card due to inactivity. I used it but I guess not as much as they wanted me to. They also did this to my husband and TOOK our $25 that was used to open both accounts. That debit account was how I transferred money to my credit card to PAY IT OFF. I started to get calls about my credit card and it needing to be paid when it would’ve been paid off months and months ago if they wouldn’t have closed my account which was done WITHOUT informing me they were doing it. Then I get another letter saying they have closed the credit card due to Poor credit performance with them like it’s my fault when they closed out my account in the first place. They can’t even do the transaction over the phone, we moved out of state a few years back but I kept my account bc I could and would use it. So I honestly think it’s crappy that they closed MY account and I’m the one being penalized over this situation when I told them I would get the money to them when I found another way. Which wouldn’t have needed to be done if they wouldn’t have closed MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT TELLING ME !!
Would honestly rate this bank less than 1 star if I could.

SECU offers notary services, so I went in to the local branch to have a document notarized. The notary public messed up the document while carelessly filling it out, voiding the document completely and botching an agreement I already had with another party. SECU’s “service” ended up costing me a lot of money. I notified the local branch, and I was told they would get back to me. As of now, they have made no effort whatsoever to resolve this matter.
