  This was by far the easiest process to open up a checking and savings account. On February the 26th I made a phone call to the branch in Harrisburg NC. I asked the young lady that answered the phone what were the necessary requirements to open a checking account and a savings account with the Bank of OZK. She informed me that I would need a driver's license and that I would need to be a citizen and that the funding for these accounts would be fifty dollars per account. I walked into the branch and spoke with Doug and wow the rest is history. Doug took time to explain how each and every account worked and how I could avoid any extra charges by keeping the accounts funded with the required amounts. They made my ATM card that day and, Doug assisted me with creating my online account. The bank was spotless and the parking lot was debris free. Before I decided to give my business to the Bank Of OZK I called the Chase Bank that sits less than a block away from the Bank Of OZK. When I called Chase I wanted to ask the very same questions that I asked the Bank of OZK but was told that I would have to use the automated system. Well it was no for me at that point and I decided to open my accounts with Bank Of OZK.

  This bank is Terrible. We tried to open a Business Account last week, had all of our information. Doug Wellmon advised us that accounts couldn't be opened the same, but he would call the next day so we could fund it. He finally called at the end of the next to ask a question we had already answered. So, He told us he would call back. Week goes by with NO CALL. It has never this hard for us to open any bank account! Well, He emailed me today to say that he'll be in tough next week. UNBELIEVABLE!! We decided to open our Bank Account at another Bank, and it was opened the SAME DAY!! Not sure why we received this treatment from Bank OZK, but we will never go to them again! BANK OZK ( Doug Wellmon) IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

  I purchased a rather large 1 year CD at this bank for my traditional IRA. I also set up an account online with Bank OZK so I could periodically follow my investment. After a year, when the CD matured, I was expecting to get a letter or email telling me my CD was maturing, but I received neither. So during the 10 day grace period, I contacted corporate OZK and requested that my CD not be renewed. Shortly thereafter I received a letter saying my CD was renewed for another year at the extremely low rate of 0.12% APY even though advertised OZK bank CD rates were much higher. So I decided to move my money to another institution. Now OZK says I will be penalized and will forfeit money if I move my money from their bank . I told them I will pay the penalty: just move my money out of their bank. I cannot trust Bank OZK with my IRA retirement savings.
