Almost 90 years ago, First Bank was founded with one simple mission: to help our friends and neighbors prosper and pursue their dreams. Today, we are the largest, independent community bank headquartered in North Carolina, with more than 100 convenient locations across the Carolinas. This means we can offer everything the big banks can but with personalized service from bankers who know your name and live in your neighborhood. Member FDIC. Equal Housing Lender.
What a wonderful Bank! We had a scam situation going on and the staff of this bank could not have been more helpful offering assistance and advice. Meka, Courtney and Ashley stopped what they were doing to help and even called us after hours to check on us. I appreciate the staff at Franklin's Branch of First Bank and give them the highest of recommendations!!!

I have never had any problems with this bank. I kept this bank even when I moved out of state. I needed to change my phone number so I called the bank. I was told to call customer service. I did and they haven't changed my number. I can't even sign in to my account but I can't. My old number is on there.

Horrible experience with this bank. My advice is to not walk away from them but run.

I joined when this was Macon Bank, which became Entegra, which became Select Bank, and which is now (at least briefly) First Bank. The service I enjoyed has degraded with each changing of the guard, and I finally elected to close my account.
The first customer service representative I spoke with was NOT helpful. The second representative I spoke with was able to at least say she was closing the account. Unfortunately, she also said I called "too close to 5:00" to close the account yesterday, but that the "request was put in" and someone would call me today to confirm the account was closed.
No one called me today.
I should have closed that account years ago; better late than never, though. All of the small-town charm is gone. If you are shopping places to keep your money, I would suggest a credit union instead.
*** EDIT: Update, 09/06/2022 - I felt bad about being so brutally honest, especially after getting a response from the company. But then.. no one ever called me! LOL. No effort was made to reach out to me, in any way, other than the copy/paste response to my review. I never got a call to confirm my account was closed; I did not get any documentation confirming my account was closed; and I did not get a follow-up call to "rectify" or "discuss" my experience. I stand by my initial review: take your money elsewhere!
