A not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members, SECU has been providing employees of the State of North Carolina and their families with consumer financial services for over 80 years.
I can't imagine being "happy" with any bank; however, I really do enjoy banking at NCSECU. Every employee is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and local.
I have dealt with what I assume to be all of the various departments, from simple banking, to more advanced investments. I have used NCSECU to help do my yearly taxes, make multiple CD investments and money market savings, get various loans, and even use simple notary functions. Every interaction I've had has been excellent.
I enjoy using the NCSECU app. It allows me to easily move around money and use biometrics to effortlessly log in. I can make sure my entire family has money going to the proper places. I am able to help teach my kids to save, and can use the app as a teaching tool. There are a lot of functions provided in the app that I have not used, mostly because I'm lazy, but I'm pretty sure were I to take time to set them up, making monthly payments on various small debts would take much less effort than I currently invest through individual web portals.
Again, when I think of a bank, "joy" is not the thing that comes to mind, but I really do enjoy going to the bank at NCSECU. I enjoy it so much that I always go inside to do business rather than using the drive through. This is not a local phenomenon as I have visited Sylva, Cullowhee, and Bryson City locations. I have the same good experiences no matter which branch I'm at.
Thank you NCSECU! Kudos to all employees!

They are the friendliest and most efficient staff. I had an emergency issue with my account and I was home sick. They were able to help me over the phone take care of everything. Saved me from a bad situation I was in. I wouldn't wanna ever bank anywhere else. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The reception at Cullowhee branch is a rude woman. She has given us a attitude a couple of times.
