Truist at 9200 South Tryon are scammers. My husband & I went inside to do a withdrawal. The hispanic lady prints something that look like a check and told him to sign it. He told her he wasn't there for a check but a withdrawal. She then said that was their withdrawal slip for him to sign. He gets the money, but inquire about a savings acct. She informed him he could wait on one lady doing the whole branch, or call the # on the back of the card. We went outside & called the #. Once transferred my husband informed the rep he was only trying to add a savings acct. She proceeds to ask 1000 questions, to so-called see which acct is best for him. She took ALL of his info, phone#, email, soc sec#. She then sent a confirmation to his phone, which prompted him to his email to set up the acct along with her ON THE PHONE! After everything was set up,he asked her about alerts. She walked him through that. The call was productive so we thought. No more than an hour or so later, he can't use his card for gas. He tried to check his acct on the phone & no acct is seen???? We returned back to the same truist. It's the same 2 ladies up there but now we have the black lady with the short hair. We told her what was going on. She proceeds to say the acct was closed?? We said why, by who, when??? She then claims they detected fraud & locked the acct. I told her we did exactly what her co-worker told us to do. We called the #, the acct was opened & now it's blocked for fraud?? She then said we could speak to someone else. We then speak with Madison. Madison tells us the acct was flagged because someone cashed a check and pulled it right back out??? We told her my husband didn't even order checks,or use them for that very reason,so what check?? She all of a sudden can't see anything. Can't tell us much but the fraud dept is sending a letter. She attempted to give us a # to call. I told her the rep at the front said she was going to call, not us. She spoke with someone to our knowledge. She never put the phone on speaker where we could hear. She quickly hung up. She repeated the same exact thing. She pretended to understand our frustration and gave us the phone#. We left and called the fraud line. We get someone else that gave a completely different excuse of why the acct was closed. She claimed there was multiple social security #'s tied to his acct??? Now unless that person that opened the acct put it in wrong..what multiple social's. I told her that her & truist on South tryon are saying 2 different things!! We got nowhere!! The only transactions he made was in the branch with truist & over the phone with truist & you guys are so egregious to make up reasons to block an acct. Mind you while I was walking out a gentleman told us he experienced the EXACT same thing and had to get it straightened out. Guess what he and my husband have in common?? This is beyond unprofessional and you guys are scamming your own customers. SHAME ON YOU!!!!! FYI He has contacted BBB as well since yall don't know how to conduct business properly by falsely accusing customers & not allowing them the opportunity to clear your false allegations, that yall probably caused yourself! 9/30 Truist called my husband and said they had the right to close anyone acct without a reason. He asked her what's the reason. She said they didn't have one!! This is beyond bad business!! Mind you this was on a recorded line!!!! 10/2 Truist sent a generic letter telling my husband his account was closed. They pointed out they had the right to end business dealings for absolutely no reason at all! This seems to be a cleaned up version of having to accept racism, without having legal remedies on your side! I would be afraid if I was anyone to bank with these people. They have mob mentality where they prey on the little man!

I have had to call Truist several times from the Midwest. Each call has been a true struggle, starting with an automated voice routing system that will get you nowhere without extensive prodding, especially if you don’t have an existing account number. Several representatives and several supervisors have been unable to help me do a simple task of releasing a lien electronically that was paid in full over ten years ago. This bank is NOT about customer service and they are quick to brush the task off to another member or division. This company had one phone number and ZERO direct lines to anyone who can provide follow up, including their legal department. If I lived in North Carolina, I would run like the wind AWAY from this shady bank.
