- KMKevin MOct 19, 20221.0what a complete joke! I try to get away from the bigger banks Wells Fargo and Bank of America and open up a First Citizen Bank account free checking. The lady who signed me up told me that I could open the account without any down payment. What she didn’t tell me is that my debit card will not arrive after a deposit of a minimum $50 and it would take seven days to arrive after that. So, I had some smaller payments from PayPal and from eBay it all went to the new account. I go to the drive up window and the first teller tells me she’s contacting the original bank that I open the account with. Then all the sudden I guess it’s her manager come to the window and tells me that I can’t withdraw $27. Yes, that’s right she said they have to protect their interest. Again it’s $27 that is pending in my account not $200 $100.00 or $1,000 . a measly $27 that shows available on their app on my phone !! I Told both the manager and the clerk that I had signed up for my direct deposit to come in November 4 that’s in two weeks. Even though it wasn’t good enough for me to take 27 freaking dollars out. Hey I tried and failed with your bank .. no thanks .. forget you!
