Terrible customer service. Worst I've seen at a bank in a very long time. It could possibly infringe on banking regulations. My daughter and i have a joint co-owned account. She has saved money most of her life She just turned 18 and wanted to buy a car. She was smart, she did her homework and everything vetted and checked out as legit. She asked me to stop by the bank and withdraw $8,000 for her. I arrived and the teller sent me to the branch manager, Tyler. Tyler checked my signature and my ID and verified I was me . The branch manager isnt allowed to get $8000 cash so he IM's the mother ship on his computer for permission. We wait.... mother ship logs on, asks , "what is this cash for?" I'm familiar with IRS reporting, never for as little as $8,000 but I get it, I understand. Its the rules. So I say, "its for my daughters car she is buying". Tyler IMs the mother ship and we wait.... next where is she buying the car? I reply, from a third party, Tyler IMs the mother ship... and more waiting ... Mother ship "where did she hear about this car? By this time I'm very frustrated. What difference does it make, Its her money, ive answered your questions. what is the deal? I feel it was because she is a female buying her own car online. Shame on Bank of Oklahoma! I requested to just give me a bank check for her withdraw. Tyler stated that process takes even longer than this one and I should just answer a few more questions. ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?!? I said she found it on-line. Tyler IM's to mother ship.... and more waiting. He was sensing my extreme difficulty in the bank's treatment of a young woman's banking transaction. Back and forth for several minutes Tyler silently IM'ed back and forth a full conversation with the mother ship while I waited. Eventually some 15-20 later Tyler gets up prints me a bank check payable to myself for the $8,000 and hands it to me. I came in for cash but that wasn't an option. My daughter gave them cash slowly over the past 15 years. Afterwards I drove to my other bank, Bank of America. I had a very pleasant experience there. I deposited her BOK check, and immediately withdrew her $8000 cash she requested and left. Easy peasy. I walked out with a wonderful appreciation towards Bank of America for fixing bank of Oklahoma's completely disrespectable treatment of a young woman's first car purchase.
