- FOFemi OgunjobiMay 11, 20241.0I wanted to transfer my money from one Advisor to another within the Edward Jones group. So, I went online to find an Advisor. Dan stood out for me in many ways: his office on Graham road is a 3-minute drive from my house. He's been with Edward Jones for over a decade, he has an impressive academic credentials, (EdD) and he has all 5 stars reviews rating. After researching and deciding on Dan, I called the Edward Jones corporate office to inquire about the process of migrating my retirement money to Dan's office. After reviewing my account, the person on the phone suggested that I should contact Dan to make sure he was still accepting new clients. I dialed Dan number and asked if he was taking new client, and he answered Yes. After that, to my surprise, he remained silents for a few seconds and thereafter switched the phone to on-hold music. He probably figured out that I wasn't the kind of new client he was interested in accepting- after listening to my voice print. I was on hold, involuntarily, with misic playing, for a while, then I hanged up and dialed his number back; and as expected, he didn't answer. What surprised me was, despite the 5 stars reviews others gave him, his experiences at Edward Jones and his advanced degree, why did he act the way and manners he did towards me? I have been investing my money with Edward Jones for 17 years. I have been focused, steady, and consistent. It's a company I hold in high esteem. I just feel like sharing my experiences.
