- TRThomasina Roth-KrosnoskiDec 6, 20252.0Wings used to value their constituents, but the past few years have seen a shift. I used to be able to deposit a check and have funds available. Now three-day holds for checks from reputable sources, such as disability insurance (when I was pregnant), are common. If someone has never deposited a fraudulent check, why is this a thing? You can take my money quickly, so why can’t you also deposit it? I hate to suggest switching to a bigger bank, but Wells Fargo has not held my deposits as Wings has. Beyond frustrating! Edit: I deposited my most recent held check on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, shortly after noon at a bank branch via the drive-through, and they held over half of it until today, December 8th. Moreover, I was surprised to find that a person was not available at the drive-through; instead, there were kiosks. I used this option to avoid bringing my toddler and me into a bank branch for what should’ve been a simple transaction. 4 days to clear a check from one financial institution to another? Funny how checks are processed quicker when the tables are turned.

It has since become a maze of inconvenient access to services, robot kiosks, broken-spirited ATM wranglers and increasing fees. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Wings no longer provides any good reason to do business with them. I am just a small fish and it is clear that I do not matter to their new business model. So be it.
