DO NOT BANK WITH THEM. Since Spire turned to Blaze it has been terrible. So many better credit unions. Their online banking got less user friendly after the switch, the customer service is trash. For months you couldn’t tell if you had already made a payment to your credit line and when you called they couldn’t tell you either. They also take like 10 business days to process the payments.
They’ll overdraft your account even after you’ve turned it off so that your card should decline charges if the balance goes below $0 and then charge you a $30 fee. They say reoccurring charges go through regardless but I’ve had reoccurring charges declined in the past for insufficient balance, it’s like the pick and choose based of the company charging.
When I initially went with SPIRE, they had a kids saving account with high interest close to 4% the switch dropped it to a regular interest for a standard savings account.
Other banks will automatically update your card information if you receive replacement cards but for Blaze you have to manual remove your prior card and manually input your new card. And they don’t tell you this information, you just find out it out for yourself.
They closed my account on Jan 2nd after reaching out to me on Dec 31st to resolve my issues. Keep in mind Jan 1st is a holiday so I had less than 24 hours to respond before they proceeded with closing.
Also they had a data leak from a third party company, I had no clue my information was stored by a third party. My son’s information was included in that leak even after I closed his account.

I love this Blaze location. They have come a long way since the Spire/Hi-Way integration. It was initially pretty slow with in-person services, but they are so fast now. Needing a transaction done the day after Christmas went quickly even with at least 10 people in line ahead of me.

Before the merger I recommended spire to everyone. Now blaze is terrible, endless fees with them - for the same transactions that I had no fees on with spire. Sadly leaving me no choice but to find another credit union soon.

I am a paranoid person and thought Blaze was trying to steal my car and get me to the hospital. I refinanced and they had kept my title. I went online and did not seem like I had even applied for a loan. I had my second appointment and they got me a lower interest rate, told me why kept title and explained that it would show up on the website tonight, my loan. We signed all the papers and it went from 21 percent interest to 6.65 percent interest. I have the loan documents and the transaction went smooth. If it was one appointment I would not have had a reason to worry. It is safe to use there company. My loan officer Luke was kind. I just got worried and scared. I have PTSD as well. They are a good credit union. Safe to use. I gave 4 stars, because it caused me stress.
