- MPM PFeb 9, 20231.0It's clear this financial advisor is used to working with people who come from a high income background. If you make less than $50,000 a year, i would suggest staying away. It's clear she has never understood how someone could have a poor credit score or be unable to simply open up a bank account with any high-profile bank. When i explained that i am $100,000 in student loan debt, her response was, "You should focus on paying off your debt." As though one could simply have enough money to do that. It's fine if debt is not your field of financial help, but to belittle the situation with such an air of arrogance is inexcusable. $100,000 may not sound like a lot to you, but it's unfathomable to those of us at the bottom. Entitled.
