- MCMike CoppocOct 26, 20251.0I opened my Wells Fargo account in 1991 at the Albert Lea branch, and no matter where life takes me I have been a Wells Fargo customer... well now that may have to change. There is not a full service bank in Albert Lea. They have a shell of a bank, and I guess they might be able to do mos if not all things a branch can do, if they have anyone there to help you. I moved home to Albert Lea, and stopped by the change my address and close an account. Nobody was available that entire day to talk to me about closing the account, and the teller did change my address... however got it wrong. She only changed it on one of my accounts. I remember when I opened the account this branch felt like I was going into a busy bank with desks, cubicles, and, well, people... Now it is a shell of a building, and they can set you an appointment if you want anything other than the backed up teller line. My son had to wait 4 days to get an appointment when he wanted to open an account. He found that most other banks here are staffed, so went elsewhere. I learned that it took about 15 minutes of phone time to fix the addresses and close the account, but you can't do that at the branch. Since I'm hearing impaired and don't like phones, I guess after over 30 years it may be time to reconsider and find a regular bank, and not just an online bank that happens to have a building in town.

Apparently they decided to steal another $100... I switched to Ally Bank and am amazed how great the customer service is. I cannot understate how great it feels to get away from Wells Fargo.
