  Honor recently went through a system upgrade. It initially didn't go quite as well as I would have hoped. However, Dan Carpenter was all over it to make sure I was taken care of going back and forth between tech support to get an answer. Ultimately, I worked with Carter Knapp to get all of our business accounts linked and working seamlessly. They both really went above and beyond with their high level of customer service and patience. Thank you for all you do, it's greatly appreciated!

  I would like to tell Carter Knapp that he is a fine employee of HCU, and that HCU is quite QUITE lucky to have him. He is kind, patient, knowledgeable. The new system at HCU is complex and complicated...and often baffling to folks my age [85]. Carter explains [and sometimes explains again] calmly and in good humor how to use this system. He goes out of his way to be helpful. This is true too: lots of young folks his age are NOT helpful to us geezers. Nor are they kind. Nor are they patient. They are, if anything, contemptuous. Not Carter. He's a sweet heart. Treat him well at HCU. Tom Bailey

  Honor CU, especially this location, has been such a great company to work with in recent years. I recently had a complex and frustrating situation where an outside company withdrew money from an account without my authorization. It created a lot of extra hassle for me with fees, reversals, communicating with multiple organizations to get it settled, etc. When I went in to dispute the charge at Honor, Bo was so helpful and resolved the issue so quickly. He listened to me complain about the situation (even though it wasn’t even Honor’s fault), was empathetic and took care of everything. It was a really great experience. Thanks, Bo!

  Why is it that a credit union I had for 5 years trusts me less then a credit union I have been a member at for less than a year? Needless to say I just closed all of my accounts at Honor Credit Union. My conversation with the individual who closed my account: “Do you want to cancel your credit card too?” Absolutely! “Well, just to let you know, it could impact your credit score” That’s fine, I’m okay with that I didn’t loose a single penny. I went to my other credit union, and got an increase on my existing line for the same amount that I cancelled at Honor. I’m disappointed. How do you expect me to prove myself to you if I am not given the chance. Never been late on a card payment. Took my credit score from 500 to damn near 700 in a matter of 6 months. I used and paid back 2,000% of the original credit line. That was a secured line of credit before I unsecured it. I used it only for bills. They denied me the loan I needed for my truck (first the u joint that connects the steering wheel shaft to the steering column, but that was covered under warranty. Truck had to go back in cause I still heard clicking, turns out it’s the clock spring) So I go back, after I tell them I don’t need a loan anymore cause i sorted it out, I give them the updated information, and they want me to get a co signer. I tell the branch manager that it sounds like you still are having trust issues. He says “We don’t view it that way” You sure? Your job is to make sure the bank gets its investment back. By making me get a co-signer , it’s like you’re saying: “ We expect you to default, so if you don’t pay, we want a back door to go through just in case.” I get it. But I do not take unnecessary risks with my money Honor Credit Union, please do better. Unfortunately, you can’t fix things with me anymore, cause I closed all of my accounts. I gave you a chance to fix it before I closed my accounts, letting the customer rep have the branch manager call me to see if I could be retained. I tried that. It didn’t work. I opened my bank account when I was 16. I am almost 21. I opened up a secure line of credit when I was homeless. Built it up so that I could get into the apartment I’m currently in. Just got a new truck with the help of a different lender. For those just starting off, you won’t get a recommendation from me. The way you handled my situation was absolutely not okay. Especially when I go to a different credit union, and they are willing to do things for me in just 3 months. You’ve had 5 years.

  Thank you to Justin Tabangull, Branch Manager at Honor Credit Union, Stadium Drive/Kalamazoo, along with customer service team for their prompt and courteous assistance in resolving the "wrong address fee" that occurred on my account. Their professionalism and swift action made the process reassuring. The training they received demonstrated outstanding communication and helpfulness. Skills necessary for excellent customer service I will continue to do my banking with Honor Credit Union. Once again, thank you for your dedication to customer satisfaction.
