DO NOT TRUST SCOTT OOSTDYK WITH YOUR MONEY! He is extremely unprofessional, arrogant and unethical. I had enough of him and his nasty attitude and switched to another EJ adviser who restored my faith in Edward Jones over a year ago. He also lies to cover himself and I feel does not have his clients best interest at heart. I left him because of this. My sister also has an account with him but never had a chance to change advisor's because she was sick with cancer. She just passed away and I called to notify him and get general instructions of what my niece (who is the beneficiary of my sister's account needed to do). My niece is very young and just needed my help to get general information. There was absolutely no requests for any type of personal information on her account as I already knew everything about her account including who the beneficiary was. First, he had an attitude from the moment he heard my voice and knew it was me calling because he was mad that I left and made a switch to another Edward Jones advisor a year ago. Because of that he never even apologized for my sister's death until I called him out on it and tried to tell me that there's nothing he can do without the death certificate which is a complete lie. I went through this whole situation when my mom passed away and passed these accounts down to her kids. You open up an account while waiting for the death certificate and then at that point sell the stock and then have it transferred into the beneficiary's account once the death certificate is received. You can open up the account while waiting for the death certificate. I verified this information with my own EJ advisor's office and they said to just verify instructions because each office may be a little different. Which was what I was trying to do. He kept talking over me, rudely interrupting me, and was making up rules that are not even rules. I've been in banking for 23 years and I know what's confidential and what's not and when you're just trying to get GENERAL INFORMATION, you are entitled to get that information. He was just trying to take it out on me because he knows that I didn't like him and went to another advisor which he even said he could care less if I like him or not. He is a very vindictive person.
