  Since Macatawa Bank's merger with Wintrust I have been unhappy with their "services", particularly automatic bill pay. It no longer works, requiring me to log in to manually pay every bill, where with Macatawa it was seamless. They would receive the monthly bills and pay them automatically up to a limit I could set. Now they have become incapable of providing this service. They can't receive some of my ebills, or if they can receive them, they can't pay them automatically. My attempts to work with them to correct the problem have been fruitless. Countless hours on the phone and in person have been a huge waste of MY time. Like a previous reviewer, I was told that the problem was on my end, that I don't know my own login and password for the companies I want to pay automatically. This is Wintrust's way of creating "sludge", the time-consuming mindless busy work meant to keep you thinking that the problem is you, not them. I might believe that if it hadn't worked perfectly before the merger. I've been promised that my complaints will be escalated and that I'll get a callback within 3 days. It never happens. I'm in the process of moving my accounts to a more competent, capable LOCAL bank. In the financial world trust is everything, and I no longer feel that this bank is worthy of my trust.

  Since Wintrust merger ebills no longer works. Called customer service, clueless about the problem, suggesting I don't know my log in for the business(even though I can log in) And customer svc will "call back" then do not call back and months later, it's still an issue. I can do recurring bill pay for a set amount, then adjust the amount but UNIMPRESSED by the merger transition, not correcting ebills, and not following through with call backs.
