- MBmichelle baumgartnerJun 16, 20231.0I needed to deposit a check and use the funds to pay vital bills, the clerk's manager helped me to deposit it and said that part of the funds would be available next day. The money was not available the next day so I stopped by to see what was going on and they placed a hold on the check for a week. I have been banking with Keybank my whole life and I have never had an issue like this. I am now unable to get the check back or cash it elsewhere and I have to wait a week for it to clear. There is no reason for this, I have always been in good standing with them. I would have never tried to deposit it if I thought this was a possibility as I explained the direness of the situation to the manager. I will be moving all of my accounts to a transparent banking system as soon as possible they do not care about their customers financial needs. If you are looking for a true HASSLE-FREE experience AVOID Key at all costs! EDIT: After calling customer service they explained that it is an automatic hold due to the check amount and that the branch manager should have never told me that any part of the funds would be available the next day. There is nothing they can do to get the funds to me and the soonest I will have access to the money is 11 calendar days after deposit (due to weekends and a bank holiday). If I could rate 0 out of 5 i would.
