  My experience with Edward Jones and specifically advisor Jeremy Urquhart has been extremely disappointing. Over time, I have had to call and email multiple times just to get responses to basic questions, which is not what anyone should expect from a financial advisor. Most recently, Jeremy chose to end our professional relationship not because of performance or financial matters, but because, in his own words, our “values don’t seem to align.” He wrote to me stating: “I am not the right person to find you a new firm, as our values don’t seem to align and I do not know of any firms who do. I am, however, going to formally end our professional relationship here. What this means is that we will not accept trade orders, with the exception of liquidations and distribution requests. I am also requesting that you make a reasonable effort to find a new firm in a timely manner. If you are not able to do so, I will be happy to liquidate your accounts and transfer the funds to you directly.” This is completely unacceptable behavior from a financial advisor. Rather than focusing on his fiduciary responsibility to act in my best interests, he injected his personal ideology into the relationship and essentially threatened to cut off service if I did not find another firm quickly. That is not professional, ethical, or client-centered conduct. Financial advisors should provide guidance, responsiveness, and respect, not judgment or personal bias. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend working with Jeremy Urquhart or Edward Jones. I will be moving my accounts elsewhere immediately.
